Quick Concept Process

The way I have created a Quick Concept can be broken down into 4 major steps. I spent roughly 12-14 hours on this piece over the course of two days.

First I drew out the basic perspective. In this picture you can see some textures I had already added, but  the first step is mostly line art, with a little shading, to make sure I like the general concept.

After I am satisfied with the perspective, I start laying down large sections of texture. This reinforces the perspective, and mentally helps me not panic about the little details. I can easily be stressed about detail. This is my way arriving at a more finished piece, given a time constraint of just 2-3 days.

After laying down the textures, I start adding a value pattern and decide where I want the focus of the piece to be. As you can see I marked two important places in the space by adding color to remind myself of where the most detail will go.

The final piece is seen here. The last step is to make a unified picture by adding/adjusting the details. I took my texture layers and put filters over them to make them less detailed. I also added the last bits of color, and lighting to finish it off. This step took the longest by far. In step 3 I had the meat and potatoes of what the concept is about, this is just some added fluff to make the scene more convincing.
